Here are 30 questions recently asked of us by our beloved Facebook family on our page.

1. Do you post or have available nutritional information on your cupcakes? Have you considered making a alternative cupcake for those who are a bit more health conscious? I take my kids to the shop just about every week and only wish I could indulge with them, but can’t (or won’t) Thanks!
- We do not have nutritional information available for our products at this time. However, it should make you feel better knowing you are eating high quality, organic, fresh, real, preservative-free food. Calorie conscious folks should remember minis are always a great choice and that over half the calories are in the frosting.
2. Do you have Happy Hour on the days that business is slow? I can’t imagine business being slow but what triggers Happy Hour cuz you always seem to have it an hour after I leave your store lol!!
- We have Happy Hours at random times. Keep an eye on FB & Twitter for the announcement.
3. Do you make vegan cupcakes?
- Yes we do! We have one vegan cupcake available daily: Vegan Cookies N’ Cream. We also have several vegan flavors that pop up now & then (Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie, Coconut Cream, etc.)
4. Can you make some gluten free cupcakes?
- We are not making any gluten free cupcakes at this time.
5. Do you guys accept custom cake orders?
- Sorry, no we are not doing custom cakes at this time.
6. Do you have sugar free cupcakes?
- Sorry, no we do not have sugar-free cupcakes. Naomi is adamant about not using artificial ingredients. She is aware of natural sugar substitutes, but has yet to find a recipe she feels is up to the standard of excellence My Delight strives for.
7. You guys still have some FOTW in stock right now?
- Questions like this one are bested asked over the phone. We are not on FB all day, and things change moment to moment in the store so even if we post a “yes,” by the time you see it, could be a “no.” If you call, we can check & put aside an order right then.
8. Is the store considering a second location or even franchising?
- Yes, we have big plans that include more locations in the future, but we’re working on some more immediate goals right now.
9. Can I work there? :)
- Maybe! From time to time, we are looking for experienced, talented, positive, and trustworthy employees. Bring in your resume. Regardless of our hiring status, you are always welcome to bring in a resume for us to keep on file for future openings.
10. Do you ship??
- Not at this time. We have not found a way to ensure our cupcakes arrive as beautiful and delicious as they are when bought in person.
11. How come you guys are so awesome?!?! :)
- Aw, thanks! We think we’re awesome because we are passionate about what we do (it’s more than “business,”) and we deeply appreciate and value our customers.
12. Do you give military discounts? Will you ever do a student discount (with student ID)? Or would you ever consider doing a special for good grades? How about a free cupcake on our birthday?
- The simple answer is no, not at this time. If you compare My Delight with other businesses, we think you’ll agree that we give away A LOT of cupcakes and do a lot of discounting as it is. We can only do so much.
13. What do you do with the leftover cupcakes you don’t sell at the end of the day?
- If we have cupcakes leftover, they are packed up and donated to local police stations, hospitals, fire stations, etc.
14. Are there kitchen tours and/or classes in our future?
- Possibly tours & decorating classes, but we are just so busy right now, we’re not sure how we could!
15. How did you become a cupcakery… How did it all begin?

16. Who is the mastermind behind all this madness? o_O
- Depends on what madness you mean … Naomi Moreno is the baker behind it all. Her mom, Melinda Moreno handles the business side of things… and a slew of other family members fill various positions to make it all work.
17. Did you guys originate the breakfast cupcake? Because we saw it at your place almost two years ago, and since then I’ve seen it on a few different shows where they claim to be “coming up” with it, and I always want to tell them they’re ripping off your cupcake.
- Yes. We wanted a truly unique flavor for our Grand Opening. It had to be something that no one else was doing. We had heard that bacon was being used on the east coast with chocolate, but Naomi got the idea of a cupcake with the flavors of pancakes, bacon & syrup. We researched all the southern California shops and couldn’t find any with bacon in their menu. It seemed like the perfect choice for our first FOTW. After the first week, so many customers missed it and requested it that we decided to make it a permanent part of our daily menu. It is now one of our more requested cupcakes (next to Red Velvet).
18. How many flavors including specialties do you guys have?
- Close to 150 now (and it keeps growing!) We are currently compiling a master list to add to our website which we’ll be updating soon.
19. How do you get that slight crispiness to the edges of your cupcakes?
- We have excellent bakers who settle for nothing short of perfection.
20. When can I get __________ flavor?
- You can special order past fotw or flavors not on our Daily Flavor menu almost anytime with a special order of 2 dozen regulars or 4 dozen minis and a few days advance notice. However, the ingredients we have on hand and the amount of orders already on the books will determine whether or not we can turn your request into an order. Otherwise, we’ll announce on FB & Twitter when that flavor comes around again.
21. When will your truck be finished? And what can we expect out of it? Just for events? Driving around town? Catering events such as weddings or parties?
- Our Gourmet Food Truck will be complete very soon. It will do all of the above! ***UPDATE**** SHE’S DONE & SHE’S THE DEFINITION OF GOURMET!
22. How many cupcakes do you make on a daily basis and how many do you sell?
- Depends on the day, but easily thousands.
23. How early do you start baking on a normal day?
- Very early. There is no set time; it just depends on the schedule for the day.
24. What is Naomi’s favorite cupcake and why?
- Honestly, Naomi can’t name any one cupcake that is her favorite. She loves them all equally! (That’s like asking a mom to pick her favorite kid) ;)
25. When is the next Sunday Social!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!!!! :D
- Now that the county has changed the laws regarding Food Trucks, we will be able to start planning our next social soon. We’re also building/training our new baking team right now, so once we’re ready for the BIG crowds again, BEATS+EATS+TREATS will be on! ****UPDATE*** SOCIALS ARE BACK IN EFFECT! NEXT ONE 11/6!
26. Why do you charge for extra boxes/containers? Since the first box is included in the price of the cupcakes, if I (or anyone else) were to bring in our own containers for cupcakes or reuse the plastic ones, could we get a discount?
- The price of the cupcakes does not change depending on containers. Essentially, we give the first box free. Bringing your own container would not reduce the price on the cupcakes because the price of the containers is not included in the price of the cupcakes. You are welcome to bring in your own container, though, to save on the extra container fee.
27. As ridiculous as it may be, can u make a doggy cupcake that is safe and nutritious for us doggies 2 eat?
- Not ridiculous! WE love our four legged friends and have plans for Pupcakes!
28. Would you consider taking suggestions for different flavored cupcakes? Possibly like a triple berry cupcake, with Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries topped with a fresh raspberry? Or something like a Crème Brule with a glazed sugar top with fresh kiwi and raspberry garnish? Or other suggestions that the FANS suggest? Maybe with a couple of suggestions and a mini competition, the winning cupcake could become flavor of the week and the person who suggests it can win a weeks worth of cupcakes or maybe just a free doz? :)
- The cupcake you’re describing sounds like our Mixed Berry cupcake. You’ll have to try it when we have it again. Actually, we have had a competition just like that for fans creating flavors before, but it’s not something we want to do at this time. Naomi has many, many flavors in her head already. Of course, you are welcome to suggest flavors on our page!
29. Do you offer a frequent buyer card?
- We occasionally do a virtual version of a frequent buyer card with Facebook check-ins and another check-in deal on Yelp. At this time we do not offer a physical frequent buyer card.
30. When will you be on Cupcake Wars?
- We have been contacted by the show several times, but we have just been too busy! It’s not something we are interested in doing at this time. When we do competitions, we prefer them to be public-judged without the drama of “reality tv”. We do, however, love the extra attention (and business!) the show has brought to our cupcakes!
In addition to the above questions you asked on FB, here are a few that we get asked A LOT:
1. How many cupcakes can I buy if I walk-in?
- Our walk-in purchase limits are 3 dozen total, not more than 8 of any 1 flavor. We keep these limits in place in an effort to maintain a variety of flavors for those coming in late in the day. Otherwise, someone may come in and wipe us out as soon as we open. Even with our best baking efforts and these limits in place, we do still occasionally sell out of some flavors before closing. If there are flavors you must have, we recommend calling early to have your order placed aside.
2. Can I order a large quantity of specific Daily Flavors?
- Yes! Ordering in advance is the best way to ensure you get what you want. **** NOTE: OUR FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS ARE COMPLETELY BOOKED THROUGH THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. You can still order for M-Thurs pick-ups* If it’s Daily Flavors you’re after, you can usually order almost any quantity of any Daily flavor by giving us 48 hours advance notice; HOWEVER, what ingredients we have on hand and what we already have on the books will determine whether or not we will be able to accommodate you. You can call, email, or fax your request and we will let you know what is possible. All orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering.
3. Can I just put a few cupcakes on hold for same-day pick up?
- Yes, usually we are more than happy to put aside your order. Occasionally, we are not able to for a variety of reasons (holidays, sold out, etc). If you are requesting less than 1 dozen, and are coming before 4pm, we will most likely not require a deposit; however, if requesting more than 1 dozen and/or you are coming after 4pm, we will ask for you to pay in advance.
4. Why didn’t you have _________ flavor today?
- The flavors you can normally count are the 16 listed on our Daily Flavor menu.
- Not all flavors are available right when we open, and some sell out before we close.
- For the best selection, come between 11-2pm.
- Better yet, call early and have your order set aside!
- Our “special flavors” (past flavors of the week), which number well over 100, are not on any set rotation. Each Monday, we announce a new flavor of the week. Sometimes these are brand new flavor creations; other times they are past fotw brought back. Occasionally special flavors “pop up” for the day. When this happens, we announce it on Facebook & Twitter.
5. How can I order flavors not on your Daily Flavor menu, like past FOTW or special flavors?
- Our past FOTW or special flavors can be ordered with a minimum of 2 dozen regulars/4 dozen minis.**** NOTE: OUR FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS ARE COMPLETELY BOOKED THROUGH THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. You can still order for M-Thurs pick-ups*
- Please understand that depending on what ingredients are needed for the special flavors, as well as our availability, we may need more than 4 days notice to complete your order. Please inquire about availability as soon as possible. Also understand that even if you call a month ahead of time, we may already have obligations “on the books” that leave us no room to take on more orders.
- *Dozen discount pricing does not apply to special flavors (only Daily Flavors).
6. Do you do custom flavors or custom decorated cupcakes?
- Due to our efforts to keep up with the public demand for our Daily Flavors, we are not taking individual custom flavor/custom decorated cupcake orders at this time. As we grow our team by hiring and training new bakers, we hope to begin taking custom orders again.
7. Do you deliver cupcakes?
- Yes, we can deliver your cupcake order. We are willing to travel anywhere our cupcakes can safely be delivered so please contact us to inquire about a specific location. Delivery and set up fees are additional and are calculated at an hourly rate – round-trip. Local deliveries start at $25. Delivery orders must be placed within 48 hours of the delivery date. Delivery is offered Monday-Saturday from 11am-4pm. Deliveries are made within a 1-hour window. Due to the delicate nature of our baked goods, deliveries will not be left unattended. A recipient must know about the delivery and be present to receive the order. Additional charges may apply for multiple boxes, delivery returns, and re-delivery attempts.

My bf and I LOVE, LOVE your cupcakes and we are so hooked on your whoopie pies! Wish you would sell your whoopie pies on Fri or Sat as well, maybe even some mini whoopie pies. My mom loves your vegan cupcake, she’s allergic to egg and was so happy when I bought her 1st vegan cupcake, she had not had cake in years! Love your place, keep up the great job! I’ll continue to follow you on FB :D
